I Saw You With Another Fellow and I Don't Care

I Don't Care
I saw you with another fellow, but I don't care,
You do not love me any more, but I don't care.
Perhaps you think you made me mad, but I don't care,
Some other girl will make me glad, so I don't care.

This postcard was sent from 'A Friend' to Miss Rebecca
Mean+ney in (I'm guessing) 1911.

I think if 'mr. friend' didn't care, he would have spent the time and money to buy the postcard and stamp and call her a meany.

Using an Outhouse at Night With Owls Hooting

There's a ghost around here
And you better shoo it -
I've got something to do
But I'm scared to do it!

I have been to many camp grounds growing up, but I've never seen a single use Ladies outhouse.  ;-)

This poor woman in her high heels and pajamas is scared of the owl.  And there is G-George skulking in the window on the camper not offering any help.  Maybe that is why she has the Male Help Wanted at the bottom of this postcard!

The Grandpa Eagle

The Grandpa Eagle
by Brenda Perez
- - -

My favorite bird
Is the grandpa eagle.

He stands so tall
And looks so regal.

The grandpa eagle is so-called,
Because his head, it is so bald.

I Shall Never See... A Perfect Guy for Me

I think that
I shall Never See
A guy who's perfect just for me!
A man who's bright and doesn't bore me,
who has the good taste to adore me.
One who'll make my insides tingle, who is (dare I hope it?) single,
And who, if our lips should lock,
can send my hormones into shock!
A man whose passion doesn't wane when he finds out I've got a brain,
Yet one who'll flatter, charm and flirt
(a lot of money couldn't hurt!).
So if you see my Mr. Right, feel free to call me day or night!
And if he doesn't come alone--I'll consider Mr. wrong! -

This is a Hallmark postcard from 1990.

Wise Old Owl

National Postcard Week, May 6-12, 2012

A wise old owl
Lived in an Oak

The more he saw
The less he spoke

The less he spoke
The more he heard.

Why can't we all
Be like that wise old bird?

Extra Large Hat with Feathers

Her hat may not, indeed, adorn her,
But it helps her keep man in a corner.

Leap Year, 1908, The Maiden's Vow

The Maiden's Vow in 1908.

Charlie shall propose tonight
I swear it by yon twinkling star,
for ages past might's been right
And all is fair in love and war.

I love how she has a rifle, a pistol and a knife, but just in case those don't work, she has a baseball bat!
